PE and Sport Premium

Sports Funding

PE and School Sport have a high profile within our school, with all children involved in PE lessons from Year 3 to Year 6.  Teaching staff are trained and up to date to deliver high quality PE lessons using Real PE.

We are using the Primary School Sport funding to enhance this provision by ensuring that all teachers develop their skills further in the teaching of dance, gymnastics, athletics, swimming and games.  Courses are being organised by our School Sports Partnership and resources will be provided linked to the course.  This has included some curriculum support in orienteering and gymnastics and more is planned throughout the school year.

All teaching staff have attended training in skills to support children with Special Educational needs or disabilities within PE lessons.

We will continue to work closely with our School Sports Partnership by attending meetings, training and entering competitions and festivals.

After school clubs will be led by specialist coaches.  In the past, the children have been able to participate in Tai Chi, Oz Box, football, gymnastics, cricket and dance and we hope to be able to deliver similar activities through this year.

In our weekly achievement assemblies, we celebrate children's sporting achievements out of school.  We encourage all children to bring in any certificates or other sporting achievements to be recognised by the whole school.

Our aim is for all children to develop a healthy lifestyle, to develop their physical skills and to gain an enthusiasm to participate in sport.
