Governance at Ashbrook

Ashbrook Junior School is proud to be part of Transform Trust. Our Local Governing Body works in partnership with the Trust and school leaders to provide support, challenge and strategic direction, helping to ensure every child receives the very best education.

Governors are volunteers from a range of backgrounds who share a commitment to improving outcomes for all children. They work closely with school leaders while maintaining an independent strategic role.

What do our Governors do?

Our Local Governing Body focuses on the long-term success of the school by:

  • Setting the strategic direction and supporting the school's vision and values.
  • Holding school leaders to account for the quality of education and outcomes for pupils.
  • Monitoring the wellbeing, safeguarding and personal development of pupils.
  • Overseeing how school finances and resources are used to achieve the best value.
  • Strengthening relationships between the school, parents, carers and the wider community.

Governors visit the school regularly, attend meetings throughout the year and receive training to ensure they are able to fulfil their responsibilities effectively.
