Our Curriculum
Our Curriculum: We Know, We Grow, We Connect
At Ashbrook Junior School, our curriculum is designed to provide a broad, balanced and ambitious education that inspires curiosity, develops character and prepares children for a brighter future. Our curriculum is built around three key concepts: We Know, We Grow and We Connect.
We Know – What We Learn
We believe that knowledge is the foundation of learning. Our carefully sequenced curriculum enables children to develop secure knowledge, skills and understanding across a wide range of subjects. Through engaging learning experiences, children build upon what they already know, make connections between concepts and develop a lifelong love of learning.
We Grow – How We Develop
We recognise that education is about more than academic achievement. Our curriculum supports children's personal, social and emotional development, helping them become confident, resilient and responsible individuals. Through opportunities to explore relationships, wellbeing, citizenship and safety, we equip children with the knowledge and skills they need to thrive.
We Connect – How We Make Links
We believe learning becomes more meaningful when children connect their knowledge to the world around them. Through educational visits, community projects, cultural experiences and partnerships, we provide opportunities for children to engage with their local community and the wider world. These experiences broaden horizons, celebrate diversity and help children understand their place in society.
Together, We Know, We Grow and We Connect ensure that every child leaves Ashbrook with the knowledge, character and experiences needed to embrace future opportunities and make a positive contribution to the world.
